- An Industrial Designer by blood Zak earned a BS in Product Design and Manufacturing as well as a BA in Visual Communication from SFSU. Being in tune to the world both old and new - natural and man made is a very important factor in his design. New Folk, Mission School, and Heirloom Design are major influences on his work. Inspired everyday by the world around him, inspiration is sourced broadly, ranging from the environmentally sound California Academy of Science building in Golden Gate Park to baby raccoons nestled happily in a city sewer grate curiously contemplating nothing of substance.
